Birdwatching Park in Castronuño 25 April 2012 and Visit to the Library

VISIT TO THE LIBRARY
A Library is the magical place where books live. For those that love reading and collecting literature, a library can be the great place for the imagination.  It´s a wonderful place where to find almost every imaginable story. Last 27th March our students from year 1 found out some of the reasons for visiting such a dream place!!!!

Birdwatching Park in Castronuño: A rather windy day!!!

We did learn -thanks to our kind guides- that The Banks of Castronuño is a Protected Nature Reserve in the Tordesillas municipal district. The banks are located also along Castronuño, Pollos (what a funny name!!!) and Torrecilla de la Abadesa. 260 species can be watched at this open space. For instance, we find aquatic species such as carps, barbels, tenches and small carps. Also we were told that this is one of the last shelters for numerous birds' species to have a rest during migration, spend winter months and reproduce. It constitutes the main wetland in Valladolid. Species such as herons, ducks, egrets, storks, gooses, predatory animals... can be found there.
